About Us

You are reading the Northeast Kansas Library System Library Technology Weblog.

Whew.

We have several guest bloggers, but the main names you’ll see are:

Brenda Hough — NEKLS Technology Consultant and nearly a celebrity librarian (hey, did you see her at Internet Librarian?)
Liz Rea — NEKLS Network Administrator, the more techie of the two, and
Heather Braum — NEKLS Technology Specialist, the newest member of the team, and
Mickey Coalwell — NEKLS Library Development Coordinator (he often finds the quirkies for our blog)

We work for the Northeast Kansas Library System, one of seven regional library systems in Kansas that work to promote excellent library service for all citizens. The vision for NEKLS in a nutshell is to help our libraries provide convenient access to state of the art library resources and promote outstanding customer service.

We think our blog fits right into that vision. :)

heya folks, I really enjoyed coming across this blog. I was the first Automation Consultant for NEKLS (1995-96) and, like Brenda, am *still* excited about the web and libraries. keep up the wonderful work - the library community of NEKLS is wonderful and deserves your support.
